We'll begin the tour in LA with visits to some famous hot rod and speed shops, museums and car shows. We'll have a day at the Long Beach High Performance Swap Meet and there'll be time for shopping and visits to some of LA's favourite attractions before we head to Bakersfield in the second week.
The October Hot Rod Reunion at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield is a three-day affordable speedfest that enthusiasts call ‘the Jewel of Nostalgia Racing.’ It attracts drag
racers and spectators from around the world and also includes a hot rod car show, swap meet and a vendors’ midway.
Wednesday 6th: Depart NZ for Los Angeles - NHRA Museum and cruise night
Thursday 7th: Reid’s Rod Parts - CW Moss (old Ford parts) - Mooneyes- The Car & Truck shop (Chev/ Ford parts) - Circle City Rods - Limeworks – Prestige Hobbies
Friday 8th: So-Cal Speed shop - Barry’s Speed Shop – John Force Race Station - Garden Grove display
Saturday 9th: 6am Donut Derelicts – Anti Donuts - Petersons Auto Museum - Huntington Beach, Pier and Main St promenade
Sunday 10th: 6am Long Beach High Performance Swap Meet
Monday 11th: Parts delivery to Kiwi Shipping – Edelbrock Collection & Factory Tour - Queen Mary & Russian Submarine
Tuesday 12th: Claysmith Cams – Hollywood Hot Rods - Barris Kustoms - Hollywood Blvd - Walk of the Stars - Manns Chinese Theatre - Amoeba Music
Wednesday 13th: Disneyland
Thursday 14th: Drive from Los Angeles to Bakersfield - Ironworks Rod Shop - Kiwi Konnection pub night
Friday 15th: Hot Rod Reunion includ ing swap meet and vend ors at Fomosa Raceway - Sonic burger cruise night
Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th: Hot Rod Reunion includ ing swap meet and vend ors at Fomosa Raceway
Monday 18th: Drive to Los Angeles – The Block – Warner Bros VIP Back Lot tour
Tuesday 19th: Fly home to NZ
Thursday 21st: Arrive home in NZ

On Saturday we'll fly into San Francisco and have 2 days to visit Alcatraz, the US Naval display, you'll be able to eat crabs at the famous Fisherman's Wharf, and shop at the many stores along the waterfront. We'll go to Brizio's Hot Rods, Sanderson Headers and then we'll drive over the Golden Gate bridge to Petaluma where American Graffiti was filmed.
We'll leave San Francisco on Tuesday and drive along the stunning Pacific Coastal Highway to San Simeon to take one of the tours through www.HEARST CASTLE.org.
We'll spend the night at Paso Robles before we head off for 2 days in Bakersfield where we'll catch up with Duane Jones at Kiwi Konnection for pub night. We'll visit Ironworks hot rods, the Army Surplus store, Harbor Freight Tools and the Boot Barn.
On Friday we'll drive to Ventura where we'll visit the National Hot Rod Supply store in the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday will be spent at the www.PRIMER NATIONALS.com; this show includes 100s of hot rods, choppers & bobbers, a vendors midway plus live bands.
On Monday we'll visit Ruckus Rods, H & H Flatheads, Barris Kustoms, Mooneyes and Claysmith Cams on our drive in to LA. Over the next 3 days we'll visit many more famous rod shops: Reids Rods, CW Moss, Chev Truck Shop, Circle City Rods, Whitewall Candy Store, Coast Airbrush, Peterson Auto Museum, Hollywood Hot Rods, Hollywood Blvd, Manns Chinese Theatre, Edelbrock Collection, Starlite Rod & Kustom, So-Cal Speed Shop, NHRA Museum, Limeworks plus more...
